Can you demonstrate first-class people management, mentoring and leadership skills and inspire/influence others? These will be the key requirements for this incredible role working within a dynamic, global law firm. As the Team Leader, you will be expected to create a positive working relationship with the Fee Earners and PA Teams through strong communication, problem solving and innovative ideas. In this role, you will be managing and developing individuals and teams whilst promoting inter-departmental working methodologies. The ideal Team Leader needs to be career-minded and able to demonstrate strong expertise within the Legal or Professional Services arenas and will have worked in a Team Leader or Supervisory capacity.
When managing and developing your team, you will be responsible for:-
- Attending regular departmental and team manager meetings
- Setting objectives, developing, coaching and mentoring individuals and the teams
- Dealing with HR aspects – performance and behavioural management, allocation of overtime, sickness and absence management
- Implementing performance improvement plans and setting monitoring performance objectives
- Recruitment of PA’s and Support staff within the division
- Workflow management, able to manage and address peaks and troughs in workflow
- Dealing with internal operational matters and any conflicting matters
- Acting as the mediator between the Fee Earners and PA’s
- Conducting one-to-one update meetings and personal development
- Identifying skill gaps and training needs
- Identifying talent within the team and making recommendations for career advancement
- Induction of new starters and coordinating individuals on a “buddy scheme”
- Introduction of new processes and projects
- Assessing and reviewing ‘Best Practice’ in relationship to advancing technology
- Building firmwide close working relationships and initiatives
- Delivering change management programmes
Key Competencies:
- Proven managerial and leadership experience and an awareness of HR processes and policies
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
- First class interpersonal skills
- Build and maintain credible working relationships
- Ability to resolve conflicts and difficult situations remaining calm under pressure
- Intuitive and strong commercial awareness
- Advanced PA skills and able to lead by example
