Freedom of Information Case Worker

This Financial Institution based in the heart of the City is seeking a Freedom of Information Caseworker to work as part of the Information Access Team in the Communications Division. The successful candidate will deal with Freedom of Information and Data Protection subject access request casework and also support the more senior officers in the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Logging all cases on the team's case management system and providing management information for the Information Access Team Manager.
• Liaising with key stakeholders within and outside the organisation
• Ensuring the organisation meets its obligations under the Freedom of Information Act.
• Identifying and assessing information relevant to the FoI requests received by the organisation
• Drafting responses and ensuring cases are completed within statutory deadlines
• Helping to keep the Information Access Team's system updated in relation to FoI precedents and external developments and providing management information using the case management system.

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience of managing FOI cases is essential
• Existing knowledge of the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection Act would be a distinct advantage
• A tenacious, enthusiastic team-player and an ability to respond positively to pressure and tight deadlines
• Self-motivation and an ability to work and research with minimum supervision
• Self-confidence and good communication skills, both written and oral
• To work as part of an operational team
• Strong workload management skills
