Wedding List Consultant

Fun and Interesting opportunity at a leading wedding list specialist, fantastic for anyone with a flair for interiors. Salary £25-27K.

The role is for a small, happy team who love what they do and like to think they bring an element of fun to it. The brides and grooms often comment how they feel like they are at a friend's house putting their list together, which is exactly what they strive for. They want their customers to look forward to their meetings and find putting their wedding list together a real pleasure.

  • Salary £25,000 - £27,000 DOE
  • The role can be part or full time depending upon the candidate.
  • Office hours are 10am-6pm Monday to Friday with the company offering weekday evening meetings from 6pm-8pm, you will be contractually obliged to do two evening meetings a week, which are paid at an overtime rate of £20 per hour.
  • You will also be contractually obliged to do two weekend appointments from 10am-4pm twice a month. These will be given back in lieu and organised well in advance to accommodate weekend plans.
  • 24 days holiday a year plus bank holidays and the time between Christmas and New Year.
  • Huge discounts on the company's stock.
  • Pension scheme.

The Role

The main part of the role is holding meetings with brides and grooms and helping them put their wedding lists together. All training for this will be provided but an interest in homeware and the ability to amass product knowledge quickly will be key. You will also be helping brides and grooms with their lists via email and over the phone and working closely with the company's other offices on a daily basis.

  • The role is very much what you make of it and it does require someone proactive who can see what needs to be done.
  • The Showroom needs to be constantly refreshed with new displays and samples and it needs to be kept immaculate at all times. The office must be kept organised and tidy with everything that is required for meetings ready and waiting.
  • It is the company's key objective to maintain excellent relationships with their suppliers, viewing their new collections and choosing samples for The Showroom.
  • There are several trade fairs which are an important opportunity to source new suppliers and samples.
  • There is an increasingly strong event management element to the role, having previously held events such as cheese and wine tastings to tea parties, wedding fairs and press events. This is an area they are keen to expand on.

Please note the successful candidate will manage their own diary and can do as many evening appointments as they would like. The wedding list industry tends to be fairly seasonal so there will be busy and quiet periods.

If you would like to be part of this and feel that you would be a good fit then we would love to hear from you. Please send your CV through to RMS Recruitment, a boutique recruitment agency based in the heart of Mayfair.
