Our client is an independent school based in North West London and is recruiting for a top notch PA to the Head to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will provide a high quality and confidential secretarial and support services to the Headmistress, Bursar, Deputy Head and SLT team. If you are a self-starter, have outstanding secretarial skills and love working within a school, please apply for the role.

Solid experience working as a PA or Secretary is a must working at a high level, working within an educational environment would be beneficial.

Duties:

  • Manage the Head’s diary, post and emails
  • Conduct weekly diary meetings with Head to discuss upcoming events
  • HR responsibilities, such as sending out job descriptions, applying for references etc.
  • Prepare interview letters, offer letters and any other documentation
  • Maintain personnel records database regarding absence, holidays etc.
  • Keep the school Bursary fully informed of all staff appointments
  • Provide cover when needed and attend School events
  • Maintain the school DBS register
  • Maintain staff records on SIMS, the Single Central Register and personnel records
  • Other duties as required by Head, Bursar or Deputy Head

Requirements:

  • Trained secretarial skills
  • Minute taking of meetings and producing accurate written reports
  • Ability to pre-empt the needs of the Head and run a smooth ship
  • Personable and presentable and act as a representative of the school
  • Manage your own time and the Headmaster’s
  • Excellent up to date IT skills
  • Mature attitude and the ability to apply tact and diplomacy
  • Detail orientated, with excellent spelling and grammar / proof reading etc.
  • Supporting the office when required and a team player
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and SIMS
