Stunning and Award Winning US law firm is looking to hire a new Library Services Coordinator to work within the Information Services team, from 9.30am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday on a 12 month fixed term contract.  Ideally looking for someone with 3-5 years’ library experience, with previous law firm experience is essential.  The Library Services Coordinator is responsible for conducting research for the firm’s attorneys, and handling the day to day operation of the library.  In this role you will supervise the London library team which in addition to this role is currently composed of a library specialist and a library intern.   Other responsibilities will include identifying and reviewing new and alternative resources, providing training and advice to fee-earners on research projects, organising research training for trainees and attorneys, conducting library inductions for new joiners and actively promoting the library and research service.  Role specific duties will include to allocate library and research tasks appropriately between the London library team, respond to a variety of research requests ranging from very simple to complex in a cost-efficient, timely manner often working to tight deadlines, present research results in a clear and logical manner, including analysis of the results and suggestions for further research, be responsible for the preparation and delivery of a number of regular current awareness bulletins and alerts, oversee the day to day London library tasks, including ordering books, checking in journals, organising passwords and managing subscriptions, deliver training when required on using online and print research tools for London attorneys, promote the library and research service, including meeting new attorneys and support staff to the London office and introducing them to the library services and as part of the firm-wide library research services team, provide support to attorneys and staff from the firm’s other offices when required.  Applicants ideally should have a qualification in Library & Information Studies, have strong legal and business research skills with experience of supervising a small team plus have a dynamic and proactive personality.
