Leading corporate firm, established for over 100 years, has an opportunity for an Assistant to support one of the best-connected women in Britain! The Chairman of a leading corporate firm, who is one of the UK's most prominent business executives and holds a CBE, requires a highly intelligent Assistant who has an interest and passion for commerce and politics. You will be liaising with members of parliament and senior business leaders. While your boss has a personal PA, Chauffer and Diary Manager you will be providing the following support within a particular area of her business:

  • Coordination of the office of the Chair; maintaining records, managing all correspondence, dealing with calls, booking all travel outside of London and coordinating with the driver
  • Organising and attending press and other (such as event) briefings
  • Liaising with the Chairs’ diary manager, whilst ensuring that the needs of the Chairs other complex and extensive business and personal diary responsibilities are met
  • Researches, prioritises and follows up on all correspondence
  • Provides required research, briefing notes and updating speeches
  • Managing the planning, coordination and delivery of  specific projects and events,
  • Attending functions with the Chair, or as her representative,
  • Maintaining  records of and reporting on costs, spend against budget and press coverage

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a passion for politics/policy, who has liaised with very senior individuals, worked within a pressurised role and would like to gain unique experience supporting an extremely interesting individual. You will be:

  • A business, economics or politics graduate
  • Experience of working at a very senior level in a busy, multi-faceted organisation
  • Experienced in sophisticated, complex diary management
  • Experience drafting and editing letters and other documents
  • Some research and writing skills

While the role is an initial 6 month contract there are endless opportunities within the firm and there is a strong possibility the role may be extended.

Hours:                   40 hours plus additional hours when attending an event
