A vibrant and friendly charity organisation has a vacancy for a Communications Advisor in their London office.
Working in a small, passionate team you will have the freedom to shape communication strategies and coordinate communications events for the organisation.
You will have gained broad communications skills in your career thus far, ideally in an agency environment or in a communications role for an international oriented organisation. Ideally you will have knowledge of the challenges facing Africa.

Responsibilities:
- Effective project management of multiple projects
- Field inquiries from stakeholders including journalists, politicians and service users
- Assisting with the creation, development and implementation of communication strategies.
- Drafting press releases, statements, comment pieces and features.
- Developing strong relationships with national, international and trade journalists
- Event planning and management
- Be responsible for the achievement of campaign or project objectives within agreed timescales and budgets
- Maintain rigorous quality control over work produced
- Produce, edit and distribute updates and materials for external and internal audiences and provide communications support for campaigns
- Help market and communicate events and campaigns
- Undertake media monitoring.
- Experience managing multiple, competing priorities, duties and/or projects
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Experience of dealing with journalists and placing news stories
- Interest in international affairs and health policy
- Relevant comms experience, including writing press releases, media strategies etc
- Collaborative attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Enthusiasm and self-motivation
- Minimum of three years relevant experience required
