Centre Administrator £10.25ph, temp 6months to perm, Nottingham

Our client is looking for a temp to perm Centre Administrator to join them on a full time basis ensuring the programmes are managed effectively and supporting the needs of new and existing students in their Nottingham Campus. You will be temping for 6 months before going perm.

What will you be doing?

  • Ensuring administrative queries are resolved to an exceptional standard both promptly and efficiently
  • Develop strong professional relationship with students
  • Scheduling and running of computer-based exams in-centre, including organising rooms, setting up/putting away computers, raising and downloading of exam tokens, invigilation and/or arranging of invigilation
  • Booking and co-ordination of required course exam markers, including monitoring of same to established centre standards and deadlines
  • Periodic checking of course dates on brochures/teaching timetables to ensure correct set-up on their systems
  • Printing of daily course lists, and feedback forms as required
  • Record and report student attendance/absentees to required parties
  • Room allocations and organising external room hire as and when needed
  • Assist with local stock ordering; receiving/unpacking of boxes and disseminating materials to classrooms as required; stock counts; return of surplus course material as requested
  • Point of contact for facilities/buildings issues that may arise
  • Liaising with Birmingham administrative team to provide necessary information for monthly accruals and reforecasts, including computer-based assessments, marker costs and room hire costs
  • Assisting with reasonable ad-hoc tasks as requested by Faculty Manager
  • Develop strong professional relationships with their faculty
  • Collate student attendance on live courses and review them for areas of concern
  • Running regular reports on current booking levels
  • Checking and loading Live recordings to student learning plans
  • Creating forums for Live courses
  • Monitoring forums to ensure queries are answered within the agreed terms Liaising with Faculty and Live centre for any issues
  • Periodic checking of course dates on brochures/teaching timetables to ensure correct set-up on their systems
  • Assist with coordinating feedback for live courses.
  • Assisting with reasonable ad-hoc tasks as requested by Live Centre Manager
  • General Responsibilities and Accountabilities for all Team Members
  • To be an ambassador for the university both internally and externally, communicating and promoting the vision and direction of the company with passion
  • To demonstrate key desired behaviours appropriate to role as agreed with line manager
  • To maintain high standards of work and professionalism at all times, particularly with regards to accuracy and presentation in both written and verbal communication
  • To work in partnership with other team members
  • To make suggestions to improve the working situation within own area of work
  • To follow Data Protection guidelines and ensure customer confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • To comply with all aspects of their business policies and procedures, particularly Health and Safety and Data Protection

What are we looking for?

  • You will have previous working experience working in an academic and student facing support environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of key areas of student concern and dealing with people from a range of cultural background
  • Confidence in dealing with difficult or sensitive situations in a professional manner
  • Ability to produce quality work without close supervision
  • An exceptional level of organisation and attention to detail as well as unparalleled enthusiasm, pro-activity and professionalism at all times
  • Flexibility - willingness to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends as requested
  • Highly computer-literate, and able to adapt to new systems
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs Grade C or above, including English Language and Maths
  • Willingness to travel to other centres for training and to help out as required, with appropriate notice
