Our client, an independent General Law Firm based in London, is looking for a corporately presented Legal Secretary to provide secretarial assistance on an ongoing temporary basis. They are an open, dynamic company who provide a supportive, friendly and encouraging environment.

You will have conveyancing experience, be a hard working team player, someone who is outgoing, friendly and eager to help out with even the small tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing incoming and outgoing faxes
  • High volume audio-typing
  • Digital and hard copy amendments and transcription
  • Answering and dealing with main line telephone calls
  • Phone messages, e-mails and out of office messages
  • Filing, photocopying, bundling and archiving
  • Opening and closing new files and volumes and carrying out the relevant procedure
  • Assisting with processing incoming and outgoing post and DX when necessary
  • Assisting reception staff when an extra hand is required and there is secretarial capacity to
  • Assisting other support staff with ad-hoc tasks when required

Skills Required

  • High typing speed and accuracy with an eye for detail
  • Audio typing using a Dictaphone
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Explorer
  • Experience of a digital dictation software package is compulsory
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a professional and friendly telephone manner
  • Ability to communicate to all levels inside and outside the firm
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and take ownership of role and problems
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
