HR Manager / HR Generalist

HR Manager / HR Generalist is required to join an independent fashion company with 13 own-brand stores, an e-Commerce store and over 120 wholesale stockists. The HR Manager / HR Generalist role pays up to £50,000.


This is a unique opportunity of a newly created position for a competent HR Manager / HR Generalist who has also gained office management experience in small/medium sized organisations, and is looking for an operational & strategic role in a non-corporate, friendly & creative organisation. The HR Manager / HR Generalist will manage over 100 employees and will work from the Head Office based in Chalk Farm/ Camden/Primrose Hill. 


HR Manager / HR Generalist duties:
·    Build and drive the HR strategy
·    Manage the day to day running of HQ with the support of the HR/Office Assistant
·    Manage the HR budget (salary, recruitment, training, legal)
·    Lead on retention & succession planning, training & development
·    Recruit & select high-performing personnel
·    Coach and support Managers in employee relations
·    Review & implement company-wide procedures to ensure legal compliance & best fit
·    Manage disciplinaries & grievances
·    Collaborate with managers to review job descriptions & induction programmes
·    Manage payroll with outsourced provider to guarantee delivery of accurate monthly salaries
·    Design & implement personal development processes
·    Benchmark & review salaries
·    Champion employee engagement
·    Travel to stores
·    Manage Health & Safety, risk assessments, insurance, business continuity policies
·    With the assistance of an assistant, manage all aspects of the Head Office on a daily basis
·    Build & maintain relationships with suppliers & contractors in respect of all areas of office management

HR Manager / HR Generalist requirements: 
·    Previous HR & Office Management experience as member of SMT
·    Experience working in a similar role within the fashion or creative retail industries
·    Up to date knowledge of employment legislation
·    Proactive and confident problem-solver with a ‘can do’ attitude
·    Ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines, demonstrating excellent organisational skills
·    Evidence of being a proactive, self-starter who can manage changing priorities in a busy environment
·    Possess a keen interest in the creative arts/design/fashion.
