Legal Secretary
Cripps is a key regional law firm with over 300 people working for entrepreneurial businesses, large corporates and private individuals.
We have an excellent opportunity for experienced legal secretaries to join our hard working and client focused Real Estate and Private Client teams, based in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.
These positions involve providing a variety of secretarial and administrative duties for the lawyers and after initial training will include taking on most tasks with minimal guidance.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Real Estate secretary with excellent IT skills, a team player who can show attention to detail, enthusiasm and flexibility, whilst maintaining the highest standard of client care.
MAIN DUTIES
The main areas of work comprise:-
- Taking audio and manuscript work, typing back correspondence, making amendments where necessary and setting out work to a highly professional standard
- Using precedents efficiently, being able to retrieve relevant documents from the word processing system
- Keeping an effective filing system, being able to retrieve requested files and documents with minimum delay
- Running a diary system, flagging documents for review in a timely fashion
- Ensuring smooth running of diary management, taking a pro-active role in entering all court hearings and document deadlines
- Handling incoming telephone calls in an efficient and courteous manner, dealing with queries where possible and passing them on in a timely fashion as appropriate
- Making necessary travel arrangements, ensuring best utilisation of time
- Co-ordinating arrangements for visitors, including room reservations and refreshments as necessary
- Acting as a focal point for queries regarding day to day office procedures of the Practice area, including authorisation procedures, document layout and other general office standards
